Hello
A few months back I kinda crashed out on doing these emails. We sort of had a plan for them where La had come up with a bunch of different subjects and “calls to action” as the kids today say and she’d kinda pick a subject then pick a call to action and feed both into my brain and we’d hoped awesomeness would come out in the form of a weekly studio email.
The process was miserable. I was supposed to do the emails every Tuesday and I wasn’t finishing up until Thursday or Friday and I felt all bad and it was a super grind. One day I told La I can’t do it, I gotta take a break, stop for awhile, get my brain back. She was like sure, take a break, I got you.
And off I went, barefoot, out the backdoor, carrying only a walking stick and a burlap sack with my favorite matchbox motorcycle and a few G.I. Joe dudes and a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (cut Uncle Bucky Style), on a vision quest to find my muse and rekindle my love of crafting excessively long sentences in emails without using hyphens.
Yesterday we were walking Odin and La mentioned she was having a hard time with this week’s email. She said she’d been working with AI and said whatever drafts she comes up with using AI all sound like garbage and…
Short story short, I am totally back.
I gotta be honest, I really love AI and I’ve used it to remarkable effect on a few things, but I will be goddamned if it’s good enough to use it to write emails to our clients. You guys deserve better, straight out of my brain, no additives, preservatives, or hyphens.
It’s amazing for some stuff, but please for the love of all that’s still holy in this world, don’t trust AI with your photos. Sure you can download an app and have AI generate a headshot but you and I and the whole world know you look way better than what a computer thinks you look like.
Good enough is never good enough.
And nobody captures you better than La.
