Hello

Lara and I are suspicious that her mom isn’t reading these emails anymore. She isn't sending a text saying, “I got your email!” right after we send them out, and she hasn’t replied directly asking for more details about Odin or the time change or asking if anyone actually went to see our art installation downtown.

We do know she’s been traveling a lot lately. She might still be on spring break. Maybe she ran off with another body builder she met while contra dancing in Acapulco. Maybe she’s been kidnapped by extra-terrestrial interdimensional beings again. Crypto-hippie communes are always a risk, as are various traveling rock bands and music festivals.

Did she forget about us? It’s because of the empty nest thing, right? There’s no grandbabies here anymore so we’re just boring now? Maybe she found a different, more interesting family to be in touch with?

Fret not as surely there’s a way to restore our rightful place at the top of her mind through fine art photography! She already has a framed canvas of our extended family by the stairs in her entryway, but surely she needs a 60x40 framed portrait of Lara and I for her living room, or a nice album for her coffee table to remind her that we're here.  

Have you checked in with your family lately? Go do it now while you can. And carve out some time for a photo session while you're at it. I promise you're not bothering them.
