Happy 2026!

This is the year that marks my 30th anniversary as a professional photographer. Man things have really changed in that time. Or... have they...?

Then (1996)

Rubber Chicken Project - Man wearing sunglasses with duct tape over his mouth and holding a rubber chicken

I've been a little wacky all my life. Silly is one of my signature traits. I did a lot of series-based projects during college because I had one roll of film to work with at a time. That made it easy to pick a theme and work with it til the roll was finished. One memorable project involved taking photos of people holding a rubber chicken. Why not, right? Apparently my friends didn't have any qualms about playing along. You can see more on my website

Now (2025-2026)

Cornered Project - Doris with her eyes closed dressed in a unicorn costume and holding a mug

3 decades later, I guess I'm still me, asking my friends to play along with my weird ideas! This time the project is all about the tight corner by the entrance to our studio. The project started as something to do with an odd space. I recruited 10 people to get photographed in the corner, and it turned into something really fun!

"Cornered" is ongoing, and my goal with this project is to simply show people as they are. It's a bit of a dare, I suppose, getting cornered. It takes some courage to put yourself out there and let me point my lens at you. As the project grows, I get to meet new people and learn so much about them. It's a great way to connect and build community, which is really needed right now. If you or someone you know wants to get in on it, let me know. Read about the project and sign up to participate here.
