Hi
I don't always work in the garden. But when I do, it's in the fall.
I have very little gardening knowledge, and I have no interest in spending my life tending things only to watch them die. If it can’t survive on its own, it doesn’t belong in my yard.
I do, however, like things to look nice. So last week I finally refreshed and replanted the weed-ridden box near my front door. In the fall, thank you very much.
I may not know what any of the plants’ names are, but I figure Seattle provides enough rain to get them established over the winter. Come summer, they're ready for their big survival test.
I like to cooperate with the world and keep things as easy as possible… you know, why work so hard if you don’t have to?
That’s why I decided to help with the Shoreline Food Drive. It’s set up to make giving easy. Plus, it feels great to do something good for someone else. Will you join me?
You’re already going to the grocery store, so pick up a few extra things.
You're already coming to my studio, so bring them with you. (And if you're thinking, Wait, I'm not coming to your studio… well, we should probably talk.)
The drive runs October 1–31 and benefits HopeLink. I'm one of 15 collection locations, with drop-offs at my studio Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 2–4pm, or by appointment.
And on October 22, from 4–6pm, I'm co-hosting a Harvest Party food drop-off event with Destination Shoreline. I'll tell you more about that later.
For now, if you're already doing something that gets you near one of the 15 nearby food-drive bins, toss a couple things in.
Easy.
Feels good. |
